We wanted to change things.
We wanted to host events across the UK and we wanted Black audiences to feel like independent cinema was for them, and to see themselves represented on the big screen for the long term.
So Who We Are was born - an 18 month season that celebrates Black Cinema from around the world, showcasing local talent with immersive cinematic experiences, collaborating with independent cinemas and supporting POC Filmmakers with their own screenings, both online and offline.
We’re creating an ecosystem of stakeholders within Black Cinema around the UK who talk to one another, share ideas, produce and champion each other’s work.
